In 2018, I received my formal 200HR teacher training at Himalaya Yoga Valley in India, under the guidance of expert teacher Lalit Kumar. Directly after, I traveled to Thailand for a 400 hour yoga teacher internship at Future Hippie. When I came back, I started teaching yoga in Amsterdam. My practice in Amsterdam has been greatly influenced by the work of my teachers Gregory Lennon and Nick Presser.

Coaching and training have always been part of my work as a teacher and scientist at the university of Amsterdam. Currently, I have my own coaching practice, where I coach people going through change processes. Next to my private practice, I coach and train people at the University of Amsterdam, TU-Delft, University of Leiden, Schouten & Nelissen University of Applied Sciences, and Downside Up.
I teach courses and workshops on identity change, behavior change, healthy work habits, stress and burn-out. Curious? Check out a sample of my audio course below.
University of Amsterdam
2010 – 2018
My fascination for how humans behave, think, and feel, started early on. When I chose my study topic, it was a no-brainer. I originally started my psychology studies to become a therapist, because I wanted to help people. During the course of my education, my curiosity for research grew, I wanted to learn and understand more about the human brain, and so my Master led to a PhD, and ultimately a postdoc. During this time I particularly studied how people think and regulate emotions, coordinated a variety of courses, and coached many students through their graduation projects. Somewhere along the way I re-discovered my purpose to help others, which led me to merge science and yoga into peaceful passion.
Curious about how I use science in my work? Read a sample of my articles below.
