Burn-outs are on the rise. 16% of the Dutch workforce is chronically stressed. Chronic stress has been linked to decreases in performance at work, but what's most worrying, is that it is strongly related to coronary disease, heart failure, strokes, diabetes 2, eating and sleeping disorders, anxiety, depression, and early death.
I combine my personal experience with burn-out with scientific knowledge about stress and burn-out, and practical tools from yoga, to teach others to stay passionate, but create peace at the same time.
I am always hungry for data, evidence, and logic, and I analyse to the point of madness because I want to understand, create, and share knowledge. In contrast, I long to be intuitive, open, and relaxed.
I used to think that I had to choose between these two seemingly opposing states: I could either be driven and passionate, or peaceful and healthy. I found out that I was wrong. This is what peaceful passion is about.
I discovered a balance between passion and peace, and it is my purpose to help others find it too. Imagine being driven without stress, feeling challenged without anxiety, being rational without blocking your emotions. Imagine doing what you lovewithout losing yourself in the process.
Bridging psychological science and yoga through writing, coaching, and teaching allows me to share the practice of mental and physical health with others. And, despite what you may have thought when you read the company name, I do that in a very down-to-earth way.
